cattleya percivaliana

A species of singular beauty, perhaps one of the most beautiful of all orchids! Its only imperfection is the slightly dank smell of the flowers . The flower spike is10in/25 cm long and bears 3-4 flowers that reach up to 4.8 in/12cm in size. The color of the tepals ranges between pink and purple, the tubular lip is purple-and -red on the inside, yellow to yellow-and-orange in the gullet, and has ruffled edges. Cultivation is fairly easy. The flowers appear between January and March.C.percivaliana grows exclusively in Venezuela,in regions with a higher level of humidity.
